My work is inspired by impressionism and centered around capturing nature’s grandeur through light and color. After graduating with my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Utah State University I packed up and headed east to South Carolina. I am inspired by the environment around me and love spending time experiencing new places and observing the outdoors. I find moments of contentment and inspiration when I am surrounded by nature. Through my art I strive to preserve and enhance the peace and tranquility I feel in the outdoors. This year I enjoyed traveling back to Utah and painting its diverse landscape. I am focused on creating plein air work that captures the soul of the environment. When on location, I am not taking in everything the eye sees but the most simple and unique aspects of nature that make up the setting’s true beauty.
